Froedtert Hospital, the academic medical center of the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network, has 702-beds and is a leading referral resource for advanced medical care. Froedtert Hospital also operates the region's only adult Level I Trauma Center.

The primary adult teaching affiliate of the Medical College of Wisconsin, Froedtert Hosital is a major training facility for more than 1,000 medical, nursing, and health technical students annually.  It is also a respected research center, participating in some 2,000 research studies, including clinical trials, every year.

 All physicians who practice at Froedtert Hospital are Medical College of Wisconsin faculty who are dedicated to patient care, research, and teaching.

Recognition

Top Hospital in Milwaukee – Froedtert Hospital ranks nationally in three specialties: diabetes and endocrinology; rehabilitation; and ear, nose, and throat care in U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals list. This places Froedtert Hospital among the top 50 U.S. hospitals in these areas. Froedtert Hospital is also recognized as high performing in five specialties: cancer, urology, geriatrics, gastroenterology and GI surgery, and neurology and neurosurgery.

Nationally Recognized - Froedtert Hospital is among "America's 100 Best Hospitals™", according to a list released by Healthgrades.  This recognition places the hospital among the top 2% of hospitals nationally for exhibiting clinical excellence year over year, according to Healthgrades.  

Froedtert Hospital was also names a top major teaching hospital in IBM Watson Health's Annual 100 Top Hospitals ranking that recognizes the top-performing hospitals in the U.S.  To determine the hospitals included on the list, IBM Watson Health researchers evaluated 3,134 short-term, acute care hospitals using publicly-available clinical, operational, and patient satisfaction data and metrics.

Top Cancer Program – The Froedtert & the MCW Cancer Network, including the Clinical Cancer Center  on the Froedtert Hospital campus, is a 2021 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award®  winner for patient experience, reaching the 95th percentile among Press Ganey clients nationally.  This marks the fourth consecutive year the Cancer Network has been recognized iwth this honor.  In addition, more than 95% of patients would recommend the Froedter & MCW Cancer Network to family and friends.  

Magnet® Designation – As part of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program®, Froedtert Hospital received its fourth Magnet recognition. The program recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing and is considered the gold standard for nursing excellence. With this achievement, Froedtert Hospital retains its place among the best of the best as part of the Magnet community - just a small, and select, group of U.S. health care organizations achieve Magnet recognition.
